211 Non-Emergency Helpline - New Jersey residents in need of health and human services, community resources and governmental assistance are now just a three-digit telephone call away form the information they need. All they have to do is pickup a telephone and dial 2-1-1. The service is available 24 hours a day, confidential, multilingual and accessible to the hearing impaired.

County Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator - Find out about recycling issues here, especially for dangerous materials such as batteries, herbicides, paints, etc. Select your county from the list at the left of the page.

Division of Social Services - The Hunterdon County Division of Social Services administers mandated Federal and State public assistance programs and social services programs as well as other family counseling programs.

Environmental Health Services - Based at the Route 12 County Complex just outside Flemington, the Department's staff of licensed Sanitarians and Public Health Investigators coordinate the various environmental health programs sponsored by the Hunterdon County Health Department.

If you need a compassionate listener anytime, or just want to talk, call Helpline. Ask any question - we will do research find the answer and call you back ASAP! We believe that after you get to know us you will call us for almost everything.

Hunterdon County United Way - United Way of Hunterdon County leads the way in developing solutions to critical human service needs in our community. Our volunteers and staff work closely with local governments, businesses and other organizations to assess and address these needs and maximize the impact of donations.

NJ Division of Mental Health Designated Psychiatric/Crisis Screening Centers - Contains a listing by county of the designated psychiatric centers.

NJHelps - NJHelps is a free and easy way for you to prescreen for 8 programs that are available to help you and your family. NJHelps is private, we do not ask who you are and we do not share your information with anyone. NJHelps will tell you where to go for help and what to bring with you, after you have answered all the questions.

Office on Disability - The Hunterdon County Office on Disability helps to provide a coordinated approach to the resources available for people with disabilities, their families and other members of the community.

Personal Assistance Services Programs - This state funded program provides assistants care for permanently physically disabled clients to assist them to:

  • Support Community-Based Independent Living
  • Participate in Job Training and/or Educational Advancement
  • Maintain or Secure Employment

Senior Health Services -Our goal is to reach out to seniors who do not regularly visit a physician and make them aware of the health risk factors for this age group. We offer various classes in Flexibility-Range of Motion; Low Impact; Dance; Tai Chi; Bowling; Yoga and Healthy Bones. These include the Screening and Health Awareness programs, the Flu/Pneumonia programs and the Blood Pressure Screenings that are held throughout the year.
