211 Non-Emergency Helpline - New Jersey residents in need of health and human services, community resources and governmental assistance are now just a three-digit telephone call away form the information they need. All they have to do is pickup a telephone and dial 2-1-1. The service is available 24 hours a day, confidential, multilingual and accessible to the hearing impaired.

2003 Human Services Directory - A searchable alphabetic directory of public and private health and human services throughout South Jersey and Philadelphia. Other areas are represented if they provide services for Burlington County residents. Links to some of the organizations are provided.

Agencies & Organizations of Burlington County, New Jersey - The Burlington County Library maintains links to local resources, including community, health, and social services.

Burlington County Cancer Resources - The New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection Screening Program (NJCEED) is part of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. NJCEED provides comprehensive screening services for breast, cervical, prostate, and colorectal cancer.

Burlington County Community Resource Directory - A searchable database of organizations that serve Burlington County.

Burlington County Health Department - A directory of services of the Health Department.

Burlington County United Way - United Way-funded programs and services touched the lives of almost 200,000 people in this community last year. This amounts to almost one in two Burlington County residents.

Camden Area Health Education Center - The Camden AHEC is committed to improving the health of the medically underserved - the ethnic and culturally diverse, the aged, the poor, the very young, the unemployed, the homeless and the uninsured. Particular emphasis is on providing services in the communities of Camden and Camden and Burlington Counties. See if they have a program for you.

Communicable Disease Program - Communicable Diseases can be transmitted from person to person or from animal to person. The Burlington County Health Department’s Communicable Disease Section provides screening and testing clinics for communicable diseases. The Communicable Disease Section also offers immunizations to eligible children and adults.

Community Nursing Services - Virtua Home Care - Community Nursing Services provides services to residents of Burlington County.

County Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator - Find out about recycling issues here, especially for dangerous materials such as batteries, herbicides, paints, etc. Select your county from the list at the left of the page.

Drenk Behavioral Health Center - The Lester A. Drenk Behavioral Health Center (The Drenk Center) is a private, non-profit organization headquartered in Hainesport, NJ that provides a wide range of behavioral health services. Our services reach all 7 southern counties and span a continuum of mental health services including crisis programs, in-home services, outpatient, residential and case management services. We serve 8,000 people annually. We have programs specifically for kids, adults, and elderly adults. Our staff is well-trained, experienced professionals who focus on partnering with consumers to help consumers reach their goals. We strive to be creative in how we offer services to make it as easy as we can for consumers to connect with us. Services are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Environmental and Consumer Health - The Environmental Health Section protects us from contamination of our food and water, ensures safety where we live, work and play and obtains “Right to Know” data about the potential harm of products used in the community and work place.

Health Education - The Burlington County Health Department has recently added a Health Education Section to serve the educational needs of county residents and agencies. Resources have been collected and created to provide up-to-date information to individuals, businesses, schools, community groups, etc. Health promotion and educational materials are available free of charge.

Healthy Adolescent Program - This new web site from Burlington County offers teens info on health issues, volunteer positions, jobs, and lots more.

Human Services - The Human Services Department funds and monitors programs for human services, mental health, homeless, alcohol and drug abuse, and the Municipal Alliance Drug Education Program.

NJ Division of Mental Health Designated Psychiatric/Crisis Screening Centers - Contains a listing by county of the designated psychiatric centers.

NJHelps - NJHelps is a free and easy way for you to prescreen for 8 programs that are available to help you and your family. NJHelps is private, we do not ask who you are and we do not share your information with anyone. NJHelps will tell you where to go for help and what to bring with you, after you have answered all the questions.

Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers - Provides primary healthcare services to local communities, including residents and migrant seasonal farm workers.

Tobacco Control - Tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of death and disability in America. New Jersey is one of four states in the nation recognized as a “new leader” in tobacco-use prevention.

WIC - The Women, Infants & Children Program provides supplemental foods and nutrition education to pregnant, postpartum, and nursing women and their children.
