Catastrophic
Illness in Children Relief Fund - In the
Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund Program,
any illness can be "catastrophic" based on
uncovered eligible medical expenses and the family's
income in a prior 12-month time period.

- Read about the new program called FamilyCare. Thousands
of New Jersey parents go without health insurance, even
though their children may be covered through NJKidCare.
This can force parents to go without medical care until
a more serious problem develops. Research shows that
parents who have health insurance are more likely to
be sure that their children get immunizations and regular
check-ups, so making affordable health insurance available
to parents can be helpful to both parents and children.

This site includes information on all doctors who
are actively licensed and currently permitted to
practice medicine or podiatry in New Jersey. The
website can be searched to locate doctors practicing
in a particular area or hospital. The profiles
contain information about a doctor's education,
training, and medical practice.
Maternal,
Child and Community Health Services - This state
office administers programs in such areas as: family
planning and adolescent pregnancy prevention; breast
and cervical cancer screening and follow-up; prevention
oriented early childhood health including lead screening,
oral health education, injury prevention; school and
adolescent services including parenting training, violence
and unintentional injury prevention; and primary care
for uninsured residents through community health centers.

Pediatric and Family HIV Resource Center -
The NPFRC is a non-profit organization that serves professionals
who care for children, adolescents and families with
HIV infection and AIDS. Founded in 1990, the Center
offers education, consultation, technical assistance,
and training for health and social service professionals.

PreventionFirst
- The mission of this local organization
is to keep our children, families and communities, healthy,
safe and drug-free.
Special
Child Health Services
- This program assures that all persons with special
health needs have access to comprehensive, community
based, culturally competent and family centered care;
maintains a Birth Defects and Special Needs Registry.
The
Special Child Health Services (SCHS) Registry - The SCHS Registry is a confidential record of infants
and children who have special health care needs or who
are at-risk for developing such needs. Infants and children
with a birth defect diagnosed by age one year are required
to be reported to the Registry.
The
Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and
Children - This program provides supplemental
nutritious foods, nutrition education, breast-feeding
promotion and support, immunization screening, and health
care referrals to pregnant, breast-feeding and postpartum
women, infants and children from families with inadequate
income and who are at special risk in respect to their
physical and mental health due to inadequate nutrition
and/or primary health care. Enrollment is open to all
eligible applicants.
