2-1-1 Non-Emergency – Click this link to search the database, or call 211 on your phone to get information and referrals on a variety of services, including: food banks, clothing closets, rental and utility assistance, adult or child day care, transportations services for the disabled, tutoring, adoptions, Meals on Wheels, insurance, interventions for drug and alcohol abuse, rehabilitation, job training, and much more.   This site and phone number will also provide emergency information about local problems such as floods and highway closures.

A Consumer's Guide to Getting and Keeping Health Insurance in New Jersey - This guide describes your protections as a New Jersey resident. Chapter 1 gives an overview of your protections. Chapters 2 and 3 explain your protections under group and individual health plans. Chapter 4 highlights your protections as a small employer. If you move away from New Jersey, your protections may change.

New Jersey HMO Performance Report (2005 ed.) - This report examines HMO's and POS's (point of service plans) and rates them in four areas: Service and Access, Doctors and Medical Care, Staying Healthy, and Getting Better / Living with Illness.  There is information on how to appeal or register a complaint, a list of accreditation organizations, a directory of New Jersey plan phone numbers, and a copy of the New Jersey Consumer Bill of Rights. The report is also available in PDF format, requiring an Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing.
